FAQ's:
-
What advantages/disadvantages does the Fusion system have over Max/Slim and other Assist systems?
- Most notably, range and torque. The Foil Drive Fusion system provides the highest ratio of range/torque to weight/volume of any assist or Efoil system.
- Disadvantages include being slightly larger and heavier than other Foil Drive units. Compared to most dedicated efoils, it has slightly less runtime per battery.
-
Does the Fusion battery work on my Max, Slim, or Assist+ unit? Max/slim on Fusion? Remote?
- NO, the Fusion battery requires the Fusion Unit. However, your existing parts can be used in conjunction with the Fusion Unit and battery. EG. Motor, cord, Mast adapters, Props, ect… *Older remotes will have less functionality than the new design.
- Max and Slim batteries are NOT functional with the Fusion unit.
- V3 Fusion Remote is backward compatible with all previous Foil Drive systems. *remote a-la-carte available in early 2026
-
Do I need a different cord length for Fusion if I’m re-using my Max/Slim cord?
- You can use the existing cord(s), but they will have a 6cm shorter effective length due to the plug position. EG. A 25cm cord would have roughly a 19cm effective length and so forth…
-
Do I need the HP motor for the Fusion?
- No, V2 works well too. However, we do find it’s best suited for the Foil Drive Fusion system objectives of more power and runtime.
-
Will the Fusion unit fit into my trench board?
- It would depend on the model and your preferred mast placement. Feel free to use this diagram to compare to your channel measurements and box placement to confirm… 656mm x 150mm x 53mm dims (*166mm width for latch function while connected. Same as Max)
